Pictured below is my fiberglass cabinet.  The front door of the cabinet swings down to become a cutting table.  The 2x4s hanging on the door are on hinges and swing down to become support legs for the cutting table.  I also fastened a bracket to the top of the cabinet and then to a stud in the wall to keep the cabinet from tipping over.

The plywood hanging to the left of the cabinet is a cutting board extension piece which also has hinged support legs attached to the side that is against the wall.

I would like to give credit and thanks to Rick Maddy for this design.  His website gave excellent details on what size to build the box and how to attach the extension piece to the front door of the cabinet.

Here is the cabinet with the door down.  I am using the shelf on top to store the micro, flox and B&D elecrtric scissors.

The cabinet has two dowels that are supported by U-shaped brackets.  This allows the dowels to be easily lifted and removed from the cabinet when necessary.

Pictured below is the slot used to attach the extension board.  The extension board has a piece of wood that slides into the slot.  There are matching holes on the slot and extension piece that align when the extension piece is inserted into the slot.   The pin on the chain is then inserted into the hole to fasten the two cutting boards together.

Here is a picture of the piece on the extension board that slides into the slot underneath the cutting board.
